Hi Georg,

in my opinion the web interface is not meant to be the primary interface for extensive mail management. It is rather meant to be used on PCs where you don't want (be allowed) to install a fat client since you do not use them every day.

Instead of adding all the features of a fat client to the web GUI, I'd prefer seeing the effort being put in adding the web GUI options to Thunderbird (extensions). It's quite annoying to log-in to the web interface in order to set a vacation message or other preferences, share a mail folder, etc. while TB is running anyway.

Just my 2 cents.

it looks like enabling this in SOGo config doesn't help. Every user has
to enable this view on his own. I checked it with a newly created user.

Okay, the feature is there. But I have suggestions :)
In Thunderbird I can "open" and "close" the threads. If you have a lot
of emails, the new smart filters in Thunderbird can help finding unread
messages. In SOGo web gui I can't filter for read or unread messages.
Something that I would like to see in Thunderbird AND Sogo aswell,
"updated" threads (new mails) are "bounced" to the top of the email
list. This and a smart filter bar would enhanced the usability a lot!

Other ideas?

i plan to add this feature too for our "Outlook"-Guys
so is it enabled by default or "enable"-able?

Hi Steve,

many thanks for your efforts.

SOGoThreadedView = YES; (or defaults write sogod SOGoThreadedView YES
if you are using the XML version)

and then an option will appear in the mail tab of preferences for user
to turn on option if desired.
I hope you mean "turn off if desired", because, I hope, SOGoThreadedView
YES will enable this kind of view per default. Ah...doesn't matter. I
will see it in the next couple of minutes. :)

This should probably be added to the manual as newcomers will not even
know it exists.
